Brief History of taekwondo

 

According to some historian this Korean martial art dates back to 50 B.C and was then known as “Tekwyon”. Some young noble men used to practice Taekyon as an honor code, which is accepted as a philosophy behind modern taekwondo. From than onwards it was supported at some times and put on the back seat by other dynasties. Until world war II there was no potential development in this martial art even its original from was somewhat distorted by Japanese influence, who tried to mix there karate in Taekyon.

 

With the end of second world war and Korean independence, various Kwans were introduced and practiced in Taekyon

These kwans were united and was given the name of taekwondo. Since than many attempts were made to regularize this martial art and many associations were created for this process. The two famous once are International Taekwondo Federation (a separate entity) and World Taekwondo Federation (recognized by international Olympic committee).

Ethics

 

Like most martial arts Taekwondo emphasize on non aggressiveness, by competing it increase your physical as well as mental strength and harmonizes you with the nature. It is a way of life and fills you with self confidence, enabling you to deal in all situations.
